Vyke, a mobile Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP

) service provider, has announced today that it launched its commercial mobile VoIP service from any of The Cloud’s 9,500+ UK and European hotspots and metropolitan area networks.
This launch allows for free access to Vyke’s mobile VoIP service for the millions of individuals that enter into The Cloud hotspots each day. To access Vyke’s mobile VoIP service from a The Cloud wireless network, Vyke users connect to Vyke as normal from their phone. This process does not require a The Cloud account or signup to gain full access.
A mass marketing program is planned to support this plan and is scheduled to begin today. The program will initially focus on central London and feature 200 black cabs bearing the Vyke logo and message.
Kjetil Bohn, CEO of Vyke, said in a Wednesday statement, "We are very excited about this service launch due to its extraordinarily compelling value proposition. While we have previously built mobile VoIP usage based on WiFi

access within the user's home or office, this is the first time that Vyke is providing large scale, free access to our services from such a significant number of locations and areas.”
“New and existing Vyke users will be able to benefit from Vyke's market leading quality and rates from very broad areas such as London City, Canary Wharf and the City of Manchester, all while out and on the move," Bohn added.
Vyke Communications is headquartered in the UK with subsidiaries and offices in Norway, the US, Iceland and Malaysia. The company’s strategic goal is to combine its expertise in VoIP-based communications systems, mobile data service creation/handset technology and wholesale carrier network management to provide a converged communication solution.
Vyke offers a current set of mobile-oriented products that deliver up to 95 percent discount as compared to current typical mobile operator pricing structures.
This launch is the perfect example of the growing demand for VoIP solutions. Vyke has parted from its traditional method of focusing on WiFi (

areas. Such a strategic move will ensure increased demand for its services, and thus a strengthened market positioning for the company.
The Cloud can also benefit from this co-branding arrangement that enables the company to expand its brand, while also deliver added value to its client base. Such an arrangement puts the company in a better position to attract customers away from competitors and to grow its current base.
