Aventure Selects TaquaWorks to Deliver Enhances Voice Services in Rural Areas

Taqua , a supplier of next-generation end-office switching systems and technologies, and BroadSoft (News - Alert), a provider of VoIP application software, has announced that Iowa-based Aventure Communications Technology has selected the two companies’ TaquaWorks.

This network transformation solution was chosen to replace Aventure’s existing Class 4/5 softswitch and deliver enhanced voice services to rural subscribers over a three-state region.

TaquaWorks is designed to be a tightly integrated communications solution that includes the Taqua (News - Alert) 7000 Switching System (T7000) and BroadSoft’s BroadWorks suite of advanced voice applications.

The TaquaWorks solution set is being integrated into Aventure’s wireless broadband Internet service offering in order to provide state-of-the-art voice and data communications services to rural subscribers in northwestern Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska.

“We chose TaquaWorks because we believe it provides users with the most advanced communications features, and at the same time allows us to deploy a switching architecture that inherently provides a higher degree of reliability than other next-gen switch options,” said Dana Greeno, chief technical officer at Aventure Communications Technology, in a Tuesday statement.

“The T7000’s switch-on-a-card architecture allows us to economically ‘pay as we grow’ our services, while also providing a high degree of reliability with this simpler architecture. Also, our end-user customers will receive functionality that goes beyond industry-normal ‘portal’ subscriber management, through TaquaWorks’ tight integration of BroadSoft’s industry leading BroadWorks applications set.”

“TaquaWorks provides the best of both worlds for service providers such as Aventure,” said Scott Weidenfeller, chief marketing officer at Taqua, in Tuesday’s statement. “On one hand, Aventure gets peace of mind thanks to the solution’s five-nines reliability, full solution support and integration by Taqua.”

“At the same time, Aventure’s customers now have access to the same advanced voice and collaborative features that are deployed by 7 of the 10 largest service providers in the world. TaquaWorks is the only platform that can provide such a best-in-class, fully integrated solution,” Weidenfeller added.

“Incumbent and competitive carriers of all sizes are showing strong interest in our TaquaWorks joint product offering,” said Leslie Ferry, vice president of marketing for BroadSoft, in the statement.

“Aventure is a perfect example of how a competitive carrier can use innovative technology to deliver leading-edge TaquaWorks services to its subscribers, whether in an urban or a rural area.”

To deliver benefit to the end user, BroadSoft’s IMS-compliant BroadWorks platform provides a comprehensive range of VoIP applications that include Hosted Unified Communications, Mobile PBX (News - Alert), Business and SIP Trunking and residential broadband services fully integrated into a single VoIP application platform.

Consumers in the rural areas of the United States have been patiently waiting for solutions that provide them with the same voice and other communication advantages that those in metropolitan areas have enjoyed for years.

By relying on TaquaWorks, Aventure can ensure that it has the capability to deliver to customers whether they reside in rural or urban areas. In doing so, the provider will be much better positioned to drive additional revenue streams and deliver a higher quality of service.
