Tiscali Netherlands will implement the DIGITALK ( News - Alert) Multiservice Platform (MSP) to launch a variety of new broadband telephony services.
Using the platform, Tiscali will implement enhanced VoIP services for around 120,000 customers across the Netherlands this year. As part of a phased rollout Tiscali will extend the service to around 300,000 customers over the next three years.
According to Bart Oskam, chief technology officer, Tiscali Netherlands, they required a broadband telephony delivery platform that was market-proven in rolling-out major new services quickly and easily.
“With DIGITALK Tiscali can launch the new services that are available on the platform, like the “virtual office” solution for small businesses. Also the flexibility and intelligence in the system means we can offer a range of tailored services to different market segments, including business, residential and wholesale,” said Oskam in a statement to the press.
“DIGITALK’s vast experience in handling large-scale migrations for the likes of BT Group ( News - Alert) was key to our decision,” he added.
In order to provide network intelligence for the new service launches, the MSP will be integrated into Tiscali’s existing softswitch platform in the Netherlands.
Mark Ashdown, sales and marketing director, DIGITALK points out that this contract
further proves that DIGITALK is becoming the platform of choice for major operators wanting to launch innovative new services quickly and easily.
“As the company enters an exciting new phase in its history following its acquisition by KPN, we look forward to helping Tiscali launch further exciting new services soon,” he concluded.
Tiscali is one of the largest internet service providers in the Netherlands.
DIGITALK is a global provider of multi service switching platforms.
